Job summary

Sambatek, LLC is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to join our transportation team in Minnesota. You will work with senior engineers on county and state transportation projects, helping prepare documents, learn standards, and grow skills while contributing meaningful work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • EIT preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to highway projects in preliminary design or plan development.
  • Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes.
  • Participate in quality review processes.
  • Perform CAD drafting in OpenRoads Designer.
  • Support task leads or project managers as part of a team.
  • Spend time in the field and office for construction inspection and site visits.

Summary

Sambatek is looking for an entry-level Project Engineer to join our transportation team. In this role, you'll work closely with experienced engineers to support a variety of transportation projects for county and state clients. You'll help prepare project documents, learn industry standards and processes, and build your skills while contributing to meaningful work.

  • Work Location: Hybrid, in office for training phase
  • Expected Compensation Range: $31.25-37.00 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)
  • Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week
Responsibilities
  • Contribute to highway projects in preliminary design phase or plan development phase
  • Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes
  • Participate in quality review processes
  • Perform CAD drafting in OpenRoads Designer
  • Perform subtasks for a task lead or project manager as part of a collaborative team
  • Spend time in the field, in addition to the office, to perform construction inspection, material testing, and see transportation project sites to grow as a designer
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
  • Basic working knowledge of OpenRoads Designer preferred
  • 3D corridor modeling experience preferred
  • Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage tasks on a project with strong attention to detail
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment
  • Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
