Job summary

Xcel Energy in Colorado is seeking a Staff Engineer to support the design and construction of utility-scale renewable and dispatchable generation. The role involves working closely with the EPC contractor, equipment suppliers, Operations, and the Company engineers to achieve top-quartile facility performance.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• EIT/FE strongly preferred.
• Experience with utility-scale projects and renewables is a plus.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Uses and applies technical standards to perform complex design activities with conflicting requirements.
• Develops technical documentation including designs, testing, calculations, reports, and standards.
• Provides field engineering oversight for commissioning, testing, inspections, and other activities.
• Leads small to medium projects and coordinates with higher level engineers or supervisors.
• Assists with bid/evaluation processes and collaborates with Supply Chain & Legal teams.

Education

ABET accredited engineering degree

Civil engineering degree preferred
