Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Generation Development Engineer – Thermal to provide technical support for new power generation projects using thermal technologies. This entry-level role focuses on layout, specs, scopes of work, and interconnection planning to advance projects from origination to regulatory approval.

Entry-level, with potential to progress to Sr./Staff/Principal levels. Hybrid work model; onsite three days per week may apply depending on team needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering from ABET accredited curriculum.
• 0+ years relevant engineering experience.
• Preferred EIT/FE certification.

Responsibilities

• Uses and applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to perform activities of limited scope.
• Provides ongoing technical support for development project activities within design standards and technical specifications.
• Coordinates/leads projects or portions of projects under the direction of a higher level engineer or supervisor.
• Assists with bid/evaluation processes by performing basic analysis and calculations on existing documentation to support bid documents.
