Job summary

CMTS in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to support LAUSD Facilities Services. This full-time, on-site role focuses on planning, design, and construction of school district facilities, with responsibility to lead technical direction among architects, consultants, and contractors.

The ideal candidate has eight years of civil design experience, a California PE license, and strong AutoCAD capabilities, plus proficiency in MS Office and Adobe.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• Eight+ years of full-time civil design experience on public or commercial projects.
• Active California PE license required and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Define and review project requirements, scopes, schedules, and interim housing needs.
• Perform complex civil design for District facilities and site improvements.
• Apply civil engineering principles to scope development, budgeting, design review, and coordination.
• Provide technical direction to architects and consultants regarding standards and guidelines.
• Review plans for compliance with codes and design standards.
• Coordinate with the City of Los Angeles and other agencies for permits and approvals.
• Manage contracts and task orders for civil engineering and surveying services.
• Direct site development studies, including grading, drainage, utilities, and rights-of-way.
