Job summary

Stantec seeks a Civil Engineer to work independently and as part of a team on land development projects under Senior Engineer guidance. You will handle design documents, hydrology/hydraulic modeling, 3D civil models, and coordination with owners, contractors, and consultants.

Minimum five years of experience, PE license, and proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D and MS Office are required. Office locations include Pasadena or Sacramento, CA; travel and field exposure may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer. Minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Local project resume and experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in directing junior staff in execution of project deliverables is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proficiency in preparing, grading, drainage, wet utility, street improvements, and other civil design documents; includes hydrology/hydraulic modeling.
• Develop 3D models of civil systems and provide markups for junior engineers.
• Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, owners, contractors and vendors.
• Prepare quantity estimates and basic cost analyses.
• Assist senior engineers with project scope, budget, staffing and scheduling.
• Lead preparation and coordination of project specifications with construction documents.
• Perform calculations using standard software and proprietary tools.
• Apply advanced techniques for analysis of civil elements.
• Participate in constructability reviews and QA/QC.
• Contribute to development of new standards and specifications for the civil group.
• Work on multiple projects.
