Job summary

Netpace Inc in Annandale, VA is seeking Civil Engineer with 2-4 years of land development design experience to join our in-office team. You will create CAD drawings for site and subdivision plans, design roads, prepare erosion and sediment control plans, and coordinate with internal and external engineers.

You should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering, an EIT is preferred but not required, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• EIT certification is preferred, but not required.
• Experience in designing, preparing and processing land development applications.
• Experience with land development in Northern Virginia jurisdictions is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to make informed design decisions based on civil engineering concepts and locality requirements.
• Contributes to the preparation of full sets of construction plans.
• Ensure the quality of all work.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD drawings and details for site and subdivision plans.
• Site layout and utility design.
• Horizontal and vertical design of roadways.
• Prepare erosion and sediment control plans.
• Generate hydrologic computations for SWM facilities.
• Perform pavement design computations.
• Conduct site distance analysis.
• Prepare site work quantity take-offs.

Location: Annandale, VA, OR, Chantilly, VA (This position is in-office 5 days a week.)

Description

Our Client provides full-service civil engineering, transportation engineering, land planning, landscape architecture, and surveying services to private and public sector clients throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. Our Customer is currently seeking Civil Engineers with 2-4 years of experience in the design of land development engineering projects. This role is not construction-focused.

Qualifications Of An Ideal Candidate

• Must have a B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
• EIT certification is preferred, but not required
• Experience in designing, preparing and processing land development applications required
• Experience in designing, preparing and processing land development applications in Northern Virginia jurisdictions is preferred, but not required
• Candidates must have the ability to make well-informed design decisions based on their knowledge of civil engineering concepts and locality requirements
• Contributes to the preparation of full sets of construction plans
• Ensure the quality of all work completed
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must
