Leidos in Chicago, IL seeks a Civil Engineer Intern to assist on electrical transmission and substation civil/structural design within a professional design team. You will work with client standards to implement engineering designs and prepare construction documentation under supervision.

The internship focuses on structure analysis, foundation design, and material takeoffs, with exposure to NEC guidelines and collaborative standards development.

Formación

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering degree program with an emphasis in Structures.
• Completed courses: structure analysis, steel or concrete design, and foundation/geotechnical.
• Knowledge of transmission and substation civil/structural design is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills when interfacing with clients.

Responsabilidades

• Create substation civil/structural calculations.
• Design supporting foundation structures.
• Develop Bill of Materials based on design criteria.
• Apply National Electrical Safety Code requirements to design processes.
• Work with client standards to implement design.
• Assist development of standards for clients as needed.
• Collaborate with a designer/drafter to create required drawings for each project.
