Job summary

AMT, LLC (AMT) is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer Intern to join our Washington, DC office for the 2027 internship period. This is a paid full-time position for May through August 2027 (flexible) and may transition into a full-time role after graduation.

You will work under project managers and team leaders with support from engineering staff. Responsibilities include supporting project tasks, data entry and presentation, and preparing reports, plans, and specifications for clients.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associates Degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented person.
• AutoCAD experience is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).
• Honest, hardworking and eager to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Support various project tasks, including regulatory requirements/reviews, research, procurement support, etc.
• Perform data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation.
• Support the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
• May work on engineering field assignments as needed.
• May work on survey field assignments as needed.
• Will be supported by leaders, mentors, and teammates.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary.
