Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) in Towson, MD invites applications for an Engineer Intern (STEM). The 2027 internship runs May through August 2027 and is paid full-time. There is potential to transition into a Full-Time Junior Engineer role after graduation.

The intern will support Transportation, Water, Wastewater, and Construction Management groups under guidance from engineering staff, and may assist with reports, data entry, and field tasks.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor or Associate degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA 3.0.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Support project tasks including regulatory requirements/reviews, cost estimates, research, procurement support.
• Perform data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation.
• Support the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
• May work on field assignments as needed.
• Will be supported by leaders, mentors, and teammates.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary

Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a highly motivated and diverse Engineer Intern (STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) to join the engineering team in our Towson, MD location for the 2027 internship period. This is a paid full-time position with anticipated duration from May through August 2027 (flexible) and has the potential to transition into a Full-Time Junior Engineer Role upon graduation. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of engineering staff in the Transportation, Water, Wastewater, and Construction Management groups.

Responsibilities

• Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/reviews, cost estimates, research, procurement support, etc.;
• Perform data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation;
• Support the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients;
• May work on field assignments as needed;
• Will be supported by leaders, mentors, and teammates; and
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old;
• Pursuing Bachelor or Associates Degree in Civil Engineering or related field;
• Minimum GPA of 3.0;
• Has excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Possesses solid technical and problem‑solving skills;
• Self‑motivated, detail oriented person;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point); and
• Honest, fun, hard‑working and ready to learn and grow

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with engineering software applications (AutoCAD, MathCAD, Bentley Microstation, etc.) is preferred
