Job summary

WSP USA in Miami, FL seeks a civil engineer with 3–5 years of post‑graduate experience to support due diligence, design, and construction of roads, buildings, and water projects. You will collect data from sites and plans, analyze results, and prepare clear reports.

Work with engineers, planners, and scientists to develop concepts, refine designs, run analyses, and ensure compliance with permits and regulations. You may assist with HASPs and safety planning, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of post-education civil engineering experience.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, permitting processes and design/build.
  • Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
  • Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
  • Knowledge of reducing hazardous substances/greenhouse gas.
  • Knowledge of civil construction laws and codes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Proficiency with technical writing and standard software.
  • Experience with listed design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS).

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data from sites, surveys, GIS data, and plans for project development.
  • Perform civil engineering work and assist with inspections of site conditions and permits.
  • Incorporate modeling, design requirements, and operating strategies for safe, functional end-users.</br>
  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, and scientists to execute projects and guide construction references.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings.
  • Develop HASPs and safety planning and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Support collaboration on Federal, State, and local funded projects.
  • Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
  • Travel may be required depending on project needs.
