Job summary

recruitAbility is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) for a growing client in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience across municipal and private development projects, working with Designers, PEs, and Project Managers.

You will assist in transportation and hydraulic design, prepare site plans, perform hydraulic calculations, and support permitting. Collaboration and mentoring are emphasized to support licensure and career growth.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree required.
• 0-4 years of civil design experience across municipal or private projects.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with PMs, Designers, PEs and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings and data to support project planning.
• Assist with planning and design of transportation and hydraulic systems.
• Develop designs for stormwater, sewer, pipelines, parking, sidewalks, roadways.
• Prepare site grading and utility plans coordinating with municipalities.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and prepare permitting documents.
• Calculate load, water flow and material stress for design specs.
• Communicate project status with Project Managers, clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare project reports, data and documentation as needed.
