Hunter Engineering Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer (E.I.T.) to join our civil engineering team in Dallas. This role offers mentorship and diverse project exposure to support your professional development and progression toward P.E.

licensure. You will design streets, utilities, and stormwater systems, perform hydrology calculations, and prepare construction documents while collaborating with clients and agencies.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required.
• Engineer Intern (E.I.T.) certification required or must be obtained within 6 months.
• 0–5 years of civil engineering experience; new graduates welcome.
• Working knowledge of civil engineering principles and design standards.
• Intermediate proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design streets, utilities, and stormwater systems per local and state standards.
• Run hydrology/hydraulic calculations for stormwater management.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting, grading, and earthwork calculations.
• Generate submittal packages for land use applications.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documents.
• Conduct field visits for site verification and construction observation.
• Engage with clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Perform plan reviews for technical accuracy.
• Support senior engineers throughout all project phases.
• Participate in client meetings and project coordination calls.
