Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s Alpharetta, GA office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training with 2+ years of experience to join the Land Development team. This on-site role offers mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions as you advance toward licensure.

You will perform site development engineering, permitting, and collaborate on AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology/storm drainage tasks across diverse land development projects.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with a civil engineering design firm
• ABET-accredited B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering
• Engineer-In-Training or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Experience/interest in Data Center projects preferred, but not required
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
• Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Ability to work independently and as a team

Responsibilities

• Site development engineering and project management tasks for a variety of projects
• Complete site civil design, permitting, and applicable software applications including hydrology modeling program, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D
• Projects will include a variety of land development site designs
• Research, coordination, project management, staff management, cost estimating, permitting for land disturbance and preparation of bid packages as well as technical specifications
• On-the-job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions
