Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training with 2+ years of experience to join our Land Development team. This on-site role offers mentorship, hands-on engineering, project coordination, and exposure to plan production and client interactions.

Responsibilities include site development design, permitting, hydrology modeling, storm drainage, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. A Bachelors/Masters in Civil Engineering and EIT eligibility (or soon) are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of civil engineering experience at a design firm.
• ABET-accredited degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform site development engineering and project management tasks.
• Complete site civil design, permitting and software applications such as hydrology modeling, storm drainage, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Contribute to a variety of land development site designs.
• Engage in research, coordination, cost estimating, permitting for land disturbance and preparation of bid packages.
• Receive training and mentorship with exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.
