Job summary

Baird, Hampton & Brown in Grapevine, TX seeks a Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to support municipal and private development projects under the direction of Designers and Professional Engineers. You will learn to create civil drawings and assist with project tasks.

This full-time, exempt role offers exposure to survey interpretation, design of roads, water and sewer systems, and coordination with clients and municipal partners.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 2-3 years of experience designing civil projects.
• Engineer in Training certification.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent interpersonal & communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and other data to plan projects.
• Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems and structures following standards using design software.
• Analyze and produce designs for stormwater, sewer, pipeline, parking, sidewalks, and roadways using design software.
• Prepare site grading and utility plans and coordinate with municipal parties; perform hydraulic calculations and create construction documents for permitting.
• Compute load, water flow rates, and material stress factors to determine design specs.
• Communicate project status with the Project Manager, client, and other relevant parties; prepare reports and data.
