Job summary

Baird, Hampton & Brown is seeking a Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to join the Fort Worth office on full-time basis. The role involves assisting with municipal and private development projects, under supervision of Project Managers, to learn and grow into a licensed engineer.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with Designers and Professional Engineers, gain hands-on experience in design and drafting, and contribute to sustainable civil solutions for our clients.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program degree is required.
• 2–3 years of experience designing civil projects.
• Engineer in Training certification is required.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other data to plan projects.
• Plan and design transportation or hydraulic systems and structures using design software.
• Analyze and produce designs for stormwater, sewer, pipeline, parking, sidewalks, roadway, etc. using design software.
• Prepare site grading and utility plans, coordinating with municipal parties; perform hydraulic calculations and construction documents for permitting.
• Compute load and grade requirements, water flow rates, or material stress factors to determine design specifications.
• Communicate project status with the Project Manager, client, and other relevant parties, including reports and project activities.
