Job summary

Baird, Hampton & Brown in Dallas, TX is seeking a full-time Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to work on civil projects for municipal governments and private developments. You will create civil drawings under the direction of Project Managers and gain licensure-ready experience.

The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree, has or is pursuing the EIT certification, and can use AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil engineering degree required
• 0-4 years of experience in civil design
• Engineer in Training certification
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential

Responsibilities

• Analyze survey data, maps, drawings, and geologic data to plan projects
• Plan and design transportation and hydraulic systems per standards using design software
• Develop designs for stormwater, sewer, pipelines, parking, sidewalks, and roadways with design software
• Prepare site grading and utility plans; perform hydraulic calculations and permitting documents
• Compute loads, water flow rates, and material stresses to define design specs
• Communicate project status with the Project Manager and clients, and prepare reports
