Job summary

City of North Augusta in South Carolina seeks a Civil Engineer II in the Engineering Division to supervise technical staff and manage design, inspection, and project delivery for water, sewer, drainage, roads and parks. You will prepare designs, review plans, administer contracts, and coordinate with engineers, developers, and city leadership.

A PE license and SC PE certification within 6 months are required.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 3–5 years of experience in civil engineering design, construction engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Must possess certification as a SC Professional Engineer, or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises Engineering Technicians and Engineers/Inspectors in the division.
• Prepares designs, calculations and drawings for water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, roadways, parks and recreation facilities.
• Reviews plans and specifications for proposed construction and subdivisions; conducts contract administration for city projects.
• Performs DES submittal reviews and prepares permit applications; coordinates with engineers, developers and municipal leaders.
