Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Requires five (5) years of Civil Engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
• Must possess the Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a State of Georgia Professional Engineering (PE) License within two (2) years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Regulates subdivision and commercial development, reviewing construction plans for compliance with codes and standards.
• Inspects ongoing and completed developments for compliance and issues notices for violations.
• Issues Land Disturbing Activities permits.
• Drafts policies and amendments to local engineering ordinances and codes for County approval.
• Advises County Manager and Commissioners on construction projects.
• Attends meetings with County officials and presents information for agenda approvals.
• Notifies property owners about project impacts and schedules.
• Completes reports, charts, and maps related to projects.
• Coordinates with contractors and agencies to resolve construction issues and adjust designs as needed.
• Reviews ESA and ESA waiver requests for compliance and approvals.
