Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) - NYCT's MOW Engineering is seeking Civil Engineer I-III to design track and third rail work, conduct field surveys, review drawings, and support construction on track projects. This role ensures safety and reliability of NYCT's track system.
Requirements include NYS Professional Engineer license, 4 years of civil engineering experience, and a relevant degree (masters accepted as equivalent).
These Track Engineering positions within MOW Engineering (Subways NYCT) provide essential support for track and third rail work across MOW, CPM, and capital projects. Responsibilities include designing special and standard track work, conducting field surveys and providing construction support, assisting Procurement with material inspection issues, reviewing shop drawings and first‑article materials, maintaining standard track drawings and specifications, and participating in investigations of derailments or other track incidents. This work is critical to completing track projects on time and ensuring the safety and reliability of NYCT’s track system.
Civil Engineer I, II, and III:
In addition to above qualification requirements, to be eligible for placement in Assignment Levels II and III, individuals must have at least one year within the last three years of experience as a major contributor or a project leader on a complex project requiring additional and specific expertise in the disciplines needed to design or construct the project.
A Motor Vehicle Driver’s License valid in the State of New York may be required for certain assignments. If required, this license must be maintained for duration of appointment.
