Qualifications

• Experience as a civil or structural engineer with 0-2 years of prior engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• EIT license is a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and MS Office; Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply standard engineering tasks and basic designs.
• Work within prescribed budgets and schedules.
• Perform routine and some non-routine engineering calculations.
• Assist in preparing engineering reports and calculations.
• Coordinate with clients to set project objectives and resolve design issues.
• Check and approve internal and vendor drawings.
• Contribute to site development and structural projects.

Job Description

• Learning to apply standard Engineering tasks. Begins working knowledge of applicable codes.
• Works within prescribed budgets and schedules.
• Performs routine, and some non-routine and complicated engineering designs and calculations in accordance with established standards.
• Assists in preparing and coordinating Engineering reports, studies, calculations, etc. as required.
• Participates in conferences with client to establish project objectives and resolve design problems.
• Checks and approves internal and/or vendor drawings.
• Demonstrates ability to get along with coworkers, customers and visitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Typical site development projects may include site planning, grading & stormwater management, and utilities design.
• Typical structural projects may include structural steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and cold formed steel design.

Job Requirements

Experience as a civil or structural engineer as demonstrated by 0-2 years of previous engineering experience.

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

EIT License is a plus.

Possess working knowledge of computers and software such as AutoCAD and /or Microstation, Microsoft Office Suite and software used for specific technical applications within the department.

Civil 3D Experience preferred

High level of verbal and written communication skills.

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorization prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
