Job summary

Pro2Serve in Knoxville, TN is seeking a Civil Engineer with 2–4 years of progressive design experience to work on stormwater and infrastructure projects. You will apply standard civil engineering principles to develop drawings and calculations and coordinate reports with project teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a Master’s degree and EIT considered plus. Pro2Serve offers opportunities to engage in site development, utilities design, and construction support

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of progressive civil engineering design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Master’s degree in Engineering is a plus.
• EIT certification is a plus; provide license number if you have it.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD or MicroStation is expected.
• Experience with stormwater/infrastructure design tools (Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary, HEC-HMS, Hydroflow) preferred.
• Computer skills: Excel, Word, PowerPoint; strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, apply Civil Engineering principles to design tasks.
• Perform routine to non-routine engineering designs with drawings and calculations.
• Prepare and coordinate engineering reports, studies, drawings, and calculations.
• Participate in client meetings to clarify project objectives and resolve design issues.
• Support site development tasks: grading, stormwater management, utilities design.
• Assist in construction checks, submittals, field changes, and drawing updates.

Job Description

The successful candidate must have experience in civil engineering design on various stormwater/infrastructure projects. Typical projects may include design of grading/drainage, storm culverts, storm sewer systems, detention ponds, minor roadway design, utility infrastructure (sewer and water lines), and erosion control.

• Under general supervision, applies standard Civil Engineering principles to accomplish tasks.
• Performs routine, and some non‑routine and complicated engineering designs with drawings and calculations in accordance with established standards.
• Hands‑on experience in preparing and coordinating Engineering reports, studies, drawings, calculations, etc. as required.
• Participates in conferences with client to build understanding of project objectives and resolving design problems.
• Demonstrates ability to get along with coworkers, customers and visitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Typical site development projects may include site planning, grading & stormwater management, and utilities design.
• Be involved in construction projects to perform checks of submittals, field changes and update to drawings.

Job Requirements

• Experience as a civil engineer as demonstrated by 2‑4 years of progressive design and developmental projects with facility site design experience.
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• A Master’s Degree in Engineering is plus.
• EIT is a plus. If candidate has an EIT License please provide State License number on resume or attach a copy of registration.
• Possess working knowledge of computers and software, such as: MicroStation and/or AutoCAD with Civil 3D or others a plus.
• Preferred – experience with Storm Drainage Software, such as Civil 3D Storm and Sanitary, HEC-HMS, Hydroflow and Culvertmaster, etc.
• Business software: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Have good level of verbal and written communication skills.

This position may require the ability to obtain a government clearance. This position may require reviews and test for absence of any illegal drugs along with a background investigation by the Federal government in order to obtain an access authorisation prior to employment, and may require subsequent reinvestigations may be required.
