Job summary

PSEG Long Island is seeking a Civil Engineer to perform engineering and design for Long Island transmission and distribution construction projects. The role emphasizes reliability, economy, and adherence to industry standards.

The candidate should have a BS in Civil Engineering, an EIT (or ability to obtain NYS licensure), and 2+ years of experience in structural analysis, reinforced concrete, structural steel, and soil mechanics, with familiarity in AutoCAD, Staad III, and TeamCenter.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering required.
EIT certification or ability to obtain NYS licensure.
2+ years in structural analysis, reinforced concrete, structural steel and soil mechanics; marine structures experience preferred.
Knowledge of AISC, ACI, ASCE, NESC, NYSDOT, NYS building codes.
Experience with design software and document management systems.
Familiarity with OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

Develop and evaluate designs for electric transmission systems and related facilities.
Produce material, engineering design, construction specifications and drawings.
Review and revise standards per industry codes and associations.
Assist in procurement of new materials/equipment to improve system performance.
Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders on engineering solutions.
Perform budget and cost estimates for projects and participate in time accounting.
