Job summary

Windsor Engineers in Portland, ME seeks a Civil Engineer to join our collaborative team. You will support project teams on municipal and land development projects, translating concepts into detailed designs while learning from experienced professionals.

You'll gain hands-on experience with engineering calculations, CAD design, and construction administration, contributing to water, wastewater, stormwater, and site development initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
• EIT Certification preferred.
• 1+ years of experience in CAD, Civil3D modeling and drafting (Coursework counts).
• Familiarity in preparing, reading, and understanding technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Windsor’s core values through positive representation and strong relationship building.
• Assist our Project Engineers with a wide variety of infrastructure projects including water, wastewater, stormwater, and land development.
• Perform engineering calculations and technical work under qualified supervision.
• Perform drafting and modeling using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or Revit software.
• Support project delivery through engineering, drafting, and planning activities.
• Assist with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantity take-off estimates.
• Bring an enthusiastic approach to your work daily, with a willingness to see challenges as opportunities.
• Participate in continuous learning of industry standards and codes.
• Complete site visits as needed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Windsor is seeking motivated individuals who love to learn and grow their skills, and who want to help their teammates do the same. As a Civil Engineer, you will support project teams in delivering innovative infrastructure solutions under the guidance of experienced professionals in both municipal and land development departments. This role offers the opportunity to develop technical expertise through hands‑on experience with engineering calculations, CAD design, and construction administration. You'll work closely with project teams to translate engineering concepts into detailed designs while maintaining Windsor's commitment to quality. WHAT YOU'LL DO

QUALIFICATIONS

• - 1+ Years of experience in CAD, Civil3D modeling and drafting (Coursework counts)
• - Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a similar degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent work experience.
• - EIT Certification Preferred
• - Familiarity in preparing, reading, and understanding technical documents
• - Experience with drafting and modeling tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, GIS, and Bluebeam
• - Knowledge of basic MS Office skills including Word and Excel
• - Strong written, verbal and technical communication skills , and ability to work on a team
• - A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
