Job summary

Dewberry is seeking a Civil Engineer to join its Owings Mills, MD office on a full‑time basis. The role focuses on moving projects from concept through final design, through construction issuance and as‑built documentation, with responsibilities spanning stormwater, utilities, and transportation design.

Ideal candidates hold a Maryland PE or can obtain one within 6 months, have 10+ years of site/civil experience, and are proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and hydraulic modeling.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (design‑based degree).
• 10+ years of experience in design and construction of site/civil, land development and infrastructure projects; experience in the Wilmington, Baltimore and Washington DC corridor preferred.
• Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland, or ability to obtain in 6 months (Washington DC and Delaware desired).
• Highly proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent understanding and use of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software.
• Strong written, oral, and graphic communication skills for effective interface with public agencies, clients, sub‑consultants and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of weekly schedules and task coordination.
• Assist with training/mentoring of staff.
• Coordinate design review process and permitting through outside agencies and client coordination.

Dewberry has an immediate full‑time opening for a Civil Engineer in the Owings Mills (Baltimore), Maryland office. The selected candidate will become part of a growing team that practices total project consulting and provides comprehensive services to a variety of commercial utility and energy infrastructure clients.

This position requires engineering knowledge and breadth/depth of experience capable of moving projects from concept through final design, issuance for construction, and as‑built documentation. The candidate must have a good understanding of public agency requirements and a successful track record in site and civil engineering.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $109,550 to $125,200 annually. Depending upon other factors—skills, experience, location, market conditions—the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for Baltimore, MD only.
