The ideal candidate will be comfortable with creating an engineering plan for land development based on their experience. Gedeon GRC Consulting is looking for a Civil Engineer to join our team! The Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and managing construction when required for highways/roadways, bridges, utility systems, and other site development projects on both public and private properties. This position will work in a team environment to ensure project success.

SALARY RANGE:

$96,000-$125,000 annually, pay commensurate with experience

LOCATION:

Options of Remote, Hybrid (local to the NYC Metro Area), or in-office at our Syosset NY, Princeton, NJ, or Newark, NJ locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Participate in project teams on all aspects of projects, including project setup, design, quality review, and completion.
2. Prepare designs based on project plans and submit the designs for approval.
3. Create and modify construction documents, reports, specifications, and designs for projects.
4. Develop detailed designs for urban and rural roadway/highway projects by analyzing the adequacy of vertical and horizontal alignments, drainage, sewer, stormwater management, pavement markings, signage, signals, and staging alternatives.
5. Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, or other governmental regulations.
6. Identify environmental risks and develop risk management strategies for all projects.
7. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, or other government regulations.
8. Review studies of traffic patterns or environmental conditions to identify engineering problems and plan for potential project impacts.
9. Provide technical expertise to clients and personnel regarding design or mitigation alternatives.
10. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.A.) in Civil Engineering with a minimum of six (6) years of related experience, focusing on highway/roadway design and stormwater management/watershed analysis.
2. NY Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
3. Understanding of civil and traffic engineering with experience in highway/roadway engineering, pavement analysis, drainage, utility design, MPT, and project management.
4. Experience with New York agencies such as NYSDOT, NYCDOT, and NYCDDC is a plus.
5. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing technical plans, blueprints, and drawings, and the ability to identify discrepancies or conflicts.
6. Understanding of government regulations, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures.
7. Proficiency with AutoCAD with Civil 3D, MicroStation, Inroads, etc.
8. Highly organized, detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple requests accurately in a growing environment.
9. Strong analytical skills with the ability to calculate complex mathematical equations.
10. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
