Job description

Title: Mechanical Construction Project Engineer (Civil & Military Works)

Location: West Point, NY

Duration: 12+ months contract

Day-To-Day Tasks

1. The project requires the client (i.e., you) to perform basic construction management disciplines (architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical) onsite—both under direction and independently.
2. Support the Prime contractor in a supportive and technical capacity, particularly as a Mechanical Engineer.
3. Specific tasks may include:
4. Onsite management support
5. Record keeping, budget tracking, and schedule monitoring
6. Inspection, progress reporting, safety monitoring, and meeting attendance
7. Testing and responding to information requests
8. Commissioning in collaboration with in-house personnel
9. Design phase services within the basic disciplines of mechanical engineering
10. Note: Design services are incidental to and in support of the Construction Management Services performed by the A/E.

What You Need to Succeed

1. Mechanical engineering degree or background (must be included to be considered)
2. Experience in construction/building (large-scale projects are a plus)
3. Strong organizational and communication skills
4. Ability to work:

7. With the client team (note: no physical office in NY)
8. HUGE plus: Electrical engineering experience
9. HUGE plus: Experience with both Military Construction and Civil Works projects
10. HUGE plus: Knowledge of:
