Kindredventures is looking for a licensed Professional Civil or Structural Engineer in California to join our team. You will work with project managers from initial design to construction, coordinating with clients and contractors.

Civil Engineering Role

Summary

Housable provides property owners with everything they need to build their ADU projects. Our platform includes free online resources, tools, design, feasibility, permitting, and vetted ADU builders to source estimates for and build their projects.

Overview

Our team is growing and is seeking a licensed Professional Civil or Structural Engineer (preferably licensed in California) with strong residential design and construction experience to join our team. This role will work with our Project Managers to deliver and support from initial project design and permitting to completion of construction. You will coordinate directly with our clients, contractors, cities, third-party professionals, and other Housable team members to bring projects from initial project design and permitting to completion of construction.

Responsibilities

• Produce structural details, calculations, and stamp residential projects.
• Coordinate with the project sales team to onboard new client projects.
• Communicate with team members via email, video, and phone about their projects.
• Communicate with city and county permitting authorities for each project.
• Prepare plans for permit submittal and address comments/revisions as needed.
• Address Requests for Information (RFIs) from clients and contractors.
• Schedule on-site photos to document under-construction and completed projects.

Experience

• Licensed as a Civil or Structural Engineer, preferably in California.
• Minimum two years of experience working as a professional engineer.
• Minimum two years of experience drafting projects in Revit or CAD.
• Experience working with clients to achieve project goals and manage expectations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with complete AEC industry vocabulary.
• Experience with common office and productivity software applications.

Other Requirements

• You must be highly presentable, detail-oriented, punctual, and personable.
• Strong ability to learn on the job and pick up new tasks and workflows quickly.
• Experience working in the ADU industry is a strong plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
