Job summary

Andersen James Group in North Austin, TX is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training to join its land development teams. This in-office role offers an opportunity to work on commercial and residential site design under experienced engineers and pursue PE licensure.

You will prepare civil construction plans, assist with grading and drainage, review standards, and coordinate with project managers to keep plans accurate and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Experience supporting commercial or residential land development projects.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and civil plan production.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with project teams.
• Ability to work full-time from the North Austin office.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil construction plans for commercial sites or residential subdivisions using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Assist with site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and water and wastewater utility design.
• Support engineering calculations, technical reports, and permit submittals.
• Review local design standards and help address comments from reviewing agencies.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and designers to keep plan sets accurate and deliverables on schedule.
• Incorporate feedback from senior engineers and take on increasing responsibility for design tasks.
