Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Saint Paul, MN office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join our Land Development team. You will perform site development engineering and project management on a variety of projects, engaging in design, permitting, and client coordination.

You will gain on-the-job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and bid packages while developing AutoCAD Civil 3D skills and hydrology modeling.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience with a civil engineering design firm.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern certification (or able to obtain within 12 months).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform site development engineering and project management tasks for a variety of projects.
• Complete site civil design, permitting, and use of software including hydrology modeling, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Work on land development site designs and related coordination.
• Assist with research, project management, staff management, cost estimating, permitting for land disturbance, and bid package preparation.
• Receive on-the-job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.
