Job summary

Ausenco is seeking a Civil Designer to join our Mine Waste Solutions team in Denver. You will develop 3D civil/earthwork models and 2D drawings for tailings storage facilities, waste rock dumps and heap leach facilities, using Autodesk Civil 3D.

We require a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Design and Drafting Technology, 5–10 years of civil design/drafting experience, and strong AutoCAD 3D skills. The role offers a hybrid work model and growth opportunities across projects and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Design and Drafting Technology from a recognized college.
• 5–10 years of experience in civil design and drafting.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 3D as a core design tool.
• Construction or contract administration experience is a plus.
• Strong collaboration within multi-functional project teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D civil/earthwork models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Civil 3D for TSFs, WRDs, and HLFs.
• Produce high-quality deliverables including plans, profiles, sections, quantity takeoffs, and documentation.
• Support civil design activities through all project phases from site investigations to construction and operational support.
• Interface with geotechnical, H&S, structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical disciplines to integrate requirements.
• Work under senior engineers to develop constructible and cost-effective civil designs.
• Coordinate with clients, municipalities, agencies, and sub-consultants to expedite design.
• Develop and review design work within a small civil/structural design team for medium-sized projects.
• Assist with engineering effort estimates, work plans, schedules and resource forecasts.
• Perform QA/QC of civil design models and drafting deliverables.
• Mentor junior civil designers and drafters for professional development.
