Job summary

KFM Engineering & Design, a Texas-based civil engineering and land use firm, seeks a Designer to support land development and infrastructure projects across the state. You will assist with site layouts, grading, drainage, utility plans, and roadway improvements, using Civil 3D and related tools.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
• Experience in civil engineering design and drafting for land development preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers and project managers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop civil engineering design plans, drawings, and documents for land development and infrastructure.
• Assist with site layouts, grading and drainage, utility plans, and roadway improvements.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and other design software to create detailed plan sets.
• Review survey information and existing conditions to support designs.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and surveyors to integrate design elements.
• Incorporate client and agency comments into drawings.
• Perform quality control reviews for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare permit drawings and supporting documentation for regulatory review.
• Maintain organized project files per company standards.
• Communicate project status and requirements to the team.
• Meet deadlines with attention to quality.
• Continue developing technical knowledge and stay updated on codes.
• For higher levels, take on complex tasks and mentor junior designers.
