Stantec is seeking an experienced Civil Designer and Inspector to join our CDD team in Clearwater or Brooksville, Florida. As a Designer/Field Inspector on our Community Development District (CDD) team, this position will focus on field inspections and reporting, as well as assisting the team with researching stormwater permits, ownership of property and community assets.
Preparation of ownership and maintenance maps and exhibits for reports utilizing AutoCAD. Under the general direction of the CDD group, this role will assist in managing existing infrastructure of thirty plus communities.
Reporting to project managers within the CDD group, this position is responsible for compiling associated back up for engineering reports, preparing field and observation reports, and assisting in preparing for community meetings.
Your Key Responsibilities
• Coordination with CDD team to prepare for and attend field visits to document existing condition and maintenance items observed.
• Prepare cost estimates and obtain proposals from contractors for maintenance or repairs outlined in observation reports.
• SWFWMD permits reviews for proper operation and maintenance of stormwater system. Assist in tracking SWFWMD permit certifications.
• Prepare exhibits and maintenance maps utilizing PDF writer and AutoCAD.
• Review plats, and other documents to determine ownership of property.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend detailed engineering drawings and reports.
• Strong organizational, time management, problem solving, and analytical skills.
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Excellent team player demonstrated by being held accountable to other team members while also holding other team members to their tasks.
• Self-starter with ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thinking.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Prior to employment, this position will require the successful passing of a pre-employment drug screen.
Education and Experience
• High School Diploma is required. Technical degree/diploma/certificate in engineering design, construction, AutoCAD or related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil engineering design, construction inspection, or a related field.
• Architect/Engineer (A/E) industry experience in project reporting is considered an asset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD is expected.
