Job summary

DEPCOM Power, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a Civil Designer focused on earthwork to support utility-scale solar projects from our Katy, TX facility. You will work with the Civil Engineering team and cross-functional partners to develop constructible designs respecting jurisdictional and owner requirements.

You will use AutoCAD Civil 3D to model sites, perform earthwork takeoffs, and coordinate with engineers to ensure accurate drawing packages for bidding, estimating, and

Qualifications

• AutoCAD drafting experience with sheet-set manager, blocks and x-references.
• Civil 3D civil design experience.
• Understanding of general drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil designs for utility-scale solar projects, including conceptual, preliminary, and final designs.
• Apply site grading, road layout, mass grading, earthwork calculations, stormwater management, and erosion control standards.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, and electrical teams to integrate site infrastructure with solar designs.
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure design requirements are represented in drawings.
• Manage day-to-day workflow across multiple development projects.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D for large-scale site modeling, grading, and earthwork takeoffs.
• Resolve design challenges to meet technical and client requirements.
• Extract points, surfaces and drawing metadata for field use during construction.
• Analyze contour and topo data to produce grading surfaces.
