Job summary

PCL Solar Constructors USA Inc. in Katy, Texas seeks a Civil Design Manager to lead civil design from concept to construction for utility-scale solar projects. You will manage Engineers of Record, environmental consultants, and stormwater compliance, ensuring cost-effective, constructible solutions.

Lead design interfaces with electrical/structural teams, review permitting requirements across jurisdictions, and mentor engineers to drive project success and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE designation preferred; licensure in relevant state.
• 7–10+ years of progressive civil engineering and project delivery experience on utility-scale solar projects.
• Strong knowledge of civil site design, drainage, stormwater management, and permitting requirements across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design development for utility-scale solar projects from concept to construction.
• Manage and direct External Engineers of Record (EORs) and consultants.
• Oversee SWPPP development, stormwater permitting, and environmental compliance strategies.
• Coordinate interfaces with electrical, structural, substation, and transmission teams.
• Mentor staff and lead constructability reviews to balance cost, schedule and risk.
