Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proficient Civil Design Engineer to join our team serving the East London area with a hybrid work arrangement. The role focuses on detailed design of roads, stormwater systems, and earthworks, collaborating with senior engineers and project managers to deliver cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate has a strong civil engineering foundation, proficiency in CAD and Civil 3D, and the ability to contribute effectively in office and remote settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in civil engineering design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and civil design tools (Civil 3D).
• Experience with stormwater and road design principles.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed designs and drawings for civil infrastructure projects such as roads, pavements, and drainage systems.
• Conduct design calculations and analyses for earthworks, grading, and hydraulic elements.
• Ensure designs comply with municipal standards, national regulations, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines, architects, and clients to develop integrated design solutions.
• Assist in the preparation of tender documentation, specifications, and bill of quantities.
• Provide technical support during the construction phase, responding to site queries.
