Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our civil defense practice in the NY, CT, or NJ corridor. The role offers on-site work in Hartford, CT, with a salary range of $110,000–$155,000 per year, and permanent status.

You will handle sophisticated civil defense matters, work closely with experienced trial attorneys, and gain direct client exposure early in your career. The ideal candidate holds a JD, is admitted to at least one of the CT/NY/NJ bars, and has 2–6 years of litigation

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school and active bar admission in CT.
• 2–6 years of litigation experience with civil defense exposure.
• Experience in insurance coverage or related matters preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day civil defense litigation across diverse matters.
• Defend clients in personal injury, premises liability, and commercial disputes.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda for case strategy.
• Communicate regularly with clients on case developments and strategy.
• Attend and defend depositions, court appearances, and mediations.
• Assist with trial preparation and trial support.
• Collaborate with partners on litigation and coverage strategies.
