Job summary

70 Superior Construction Company Southeast, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support daily management and coordination of heavy highway construction projects. The role focuses on schedule, cost control, contract administration, and maintaining project records.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering or construction management degree with 5+ years of heavy highway experience and at least 2 years of progressive PM responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as required in civil engineering or construction management.
• 5+ years of heavy highway experience and 2+ years of progressive project management experience preferred.
• Safety Trained Supervisor and Construction Certification are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with daily management, supervision, coordination, and successful completion of projects to meet schedule and cost objectives.
• Review and approve invoices, subcontractor payments, and cost reports; identify variances and potential claims.
• Maintain project records (daily reports, logs, photos, minutes) and manage the project budget and change orders.
• Mentor project engineers and interns; enforce company policies and ensure safety standards on site.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors; ensure timely payments and resolve disputes or changes.
• Travel regionally as needed to oversee sites and projects.
