Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Civil Construction Intern to join our field‑based teams. You’ll assist with inspection and documentation of road, water main, and sewer construction projects under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers.

This internship offers hands‑on field exposure, mentorship, and learning opportunities across ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and related tools while developing strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills in a real‑world infrastructure setting.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Construction Engineering (ABET‑accredited).
• Experience on field projects is a plus.
• Familiarity with ArcGIS, MicroStation, GeoPak, and/or AutoCAD desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and document road, water main, and sewer construction projects.
• Support field observation and project documentation.
• Learn from experienced engineers and project managers.

Education

ABET-accredited Civil/Construction Engineering program

EIT preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to work independently and in a team

Valid driver’s license
