Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Civil Construction Inspector II to conduct and document observations of civil infrastructure construction projects. You will collaborate with Project Managers and field staff, interpret drawings, and identify discrepancies while guiding junior team members.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of inspection experience; technical education is a plus. HDR supports an inclusive employee-owned culture and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute for a diploma.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in construction inspection.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook).
• Proven problem-solving and documentation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• HDR's Drug and Alcohol Policy supports safety and client requirements; may require a drug screen.
• Sponsorship (visa) for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document observations of construction as it progresses for civil projects (roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, pipelines).
• Collaborate with field representatives or Project Managers.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; identify discrepancies or conflicts in documents.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced field staff as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
