Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of concrete, asphalt, sidewalks, curb and gutter, storm drains.
• Three years of construction field inspector experience for Inspector I.
• For Inspector II: ten years of site work and related certifications.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read civil/architectural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans & specifications and makes recommendations for improvements.
• Inspects erosion & sediment control installations.
• Inspects construction projects to ensure work matches plans and specs.
• Coordinates construction work with utilities, consultants, other City Departments, and outside agencies when applicable.
• Inspects excavation permits and right-of-way permits for public safety.
• Enforces compliance with City codes, MOT plans, and contract specs.
• Keeps daily logs and documents issues.
• Performs related work as assigned.
