Role Overview

In the role of Civil Construction Inspector II, you'll be responsible for:

1. Conducting and documenting observations of construction progress for civil projects, including roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, and pipelines.
2. Monitoring, recording, and inspecting construction activities.
3. Coordinating field materials sampling and testing, such as concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and performing in-place soil compaction testing.
4. Receiving supervision from the Senior Inspector, who reviews work during progress.
5. Performing other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in construction inspection.
• Ability to interpret construction schedules.
• At least 3 years of experience in civil, highway, or a related engineering field, with at least one year in field inspection activities.
• Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and procedures.
• Ability to maintain records, perform complex computations, and interpret plans and specifications.
• NICET Level II Certification in Transportation/Highway Construction is preferred, unless holding a current PE license registered in CT or a relevant BS degree.
• Local candidates are preferred.

Minimum Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office suite.
• Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
