Role Overview: Civil Construction Inspector II

We are seeking a Civil Construction Inspector II responsible for:

1. Conducting and documenting observations of construction progress for civil projects such as roads, bridges, water/wastewater facilities, pump stations, and pipelines.
2. Monitoring, recording, and inspecting construction activities.
3. Coordinating field materials sampling and testing, including concrete slump and air testing, casting concrete test cylinders, and soil compaction testing.
4. Working under the general supervision of the Senior Inspector, who reviews work during progress.
5. Performing additional duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in construction inspection.
• Ability to interpret construction schedules.
• At least 3 years of experience in civil, highway, or related engineering fields, with at least one year in field inspection. Knowledge of construction materials, methods, procedures, and ability to maintain records, perform complex computations, and interpret plans and specs. Effective communication skills.
• NICET Level II Certification in Transportation/Highway Construction is preferred, unless the candidate holds a current PE license registered in CT or a relevant BS degree.
• Local candidates are preferred.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
