Job summary

The New York State Office of General Services (OGS) seeks a licensed Professional Engineer to oversee construction projects in Buffalo, coordinating design efforts, schedules, and budgets. The role requires NYS PE licensure and current registration, with eligibility for transfer for state employees.

You will supervise consultants and manage project documentation through completion. Travel within the region may be required, and telecommuting is not the primary mode of work.

Qualifications

• Must hold a New York State Professional Engineer license and current registration.
• One year of full-time qualifying engineering experience may be required if no PE license is held with registration.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional engineering duties related to design, project budget, estimates, work plans and contract changes.
• Provide project oversight to ensure work conforms to engineering standards.
• Coordinate design drawings and specifications, construction costs estimates with other disciplines.
• Manage project schedules according to workload and design timelines.
• Review reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates prepared by design consultants.
• Oversee consultant design work for assigned projects.
• Develop and maintain project documentation including meetings, correspondence, and progress records.
• Review shop drawings and Requests for Information, provide construction administration and observation.
• Supervise subordinate staff and consultant work.
• Perform other assigned duties.
