Job summary

The Office of General Services (OGS) in Albany seeks a licensed New York State Professional Engineer to lead electrical design projects. You will designate system types, supervise junior staff, coordinate multidisciplinary drawings, and actively manage schedules and documentation throughout construction.

Applicants must hold a NYS PE license with current registration, a qualifying degree in engineering, and at least one year of electrical systems experience.

Qualifications

• New York State Professional Engineer's license and current registration.
• Qualifying bachelor's degree or higher in listed engineering fields.
• One year of full-time engineering experience in electrical systems.
• Resumes must include month and year for start and end dates.
• If any experience is less than full time, indicate average hours worked per week.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise complex electrical engineering design projects.
• Designate type of electrical system to be used for projects; assign, supervise, and check design work of subordinates.
• Coordinate design drawings and specifications, construction costs estimates, with other technical disciplines.
• Actively manage project schedules according to workload and design schedules.
• Review reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates prepared by design consultants.
• Oversee consultant design work for assigned projects.
• Develop and maintain project documentation including meeting records and progress.
• Review shop drawings, respond to contractor RFIs, and provide construction administration.
• Perform a full range of supervisory duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
