Job summary

VAA is seeking a Civil Technician to support design teams in Minneapolis, drafting plans from concept through construction documents. You will work with designers and engineers to create accurate drawings and maintain CAD standards.

The role involves set up of plans, sections and details, identifying redlines, and coordinating project archiving. Occasional travel to sites may be required; a drafting certificate or 1 year of related experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Certificate in construction related design/drafting or higher.
• OR at least 1 year of directly related experience.
• Ability to set up plans, sections and details to CAD standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up plans, sections and details to CAD standards under direction of others.
• Identify redlines on drawings and implement changes accurately.
• Enhance design skills to support technical expertise.
• Coordinate plotter maintenance and project archiving.
• May require occasional travel to construction job sites.
