Job summary

Baxter and Woodman Inc is seeking a CAD Technician / Designer to provide drafting and design support across civil engineering projects, including municipal infrastructure, site development, and institutional facilities. You will translate engineering concepts into detailed construction drawings and 3D models while ensuring CAD standards and project accuracy.

Qualifications

5+ years of civil CAD drafting/design experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (model space, paper space).
Experience preparing water/wastewater/stormwater plans.
Ability to read engineering plans and surveys.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Team-oriented with ability to meet budgets and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Produce and edit civil engineering drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation.
Site layout and grading plans.
Utility plans (water, wastewater, stormwater).
Paving, drainage, and detention systems.
Prepare Plan & Profile drawings for underground utilities and infrastructure.
Perform site grading, terrain modeling, and preliminary layout of storm sewer and utilities.
Produce exhibits, details, and supporting documentation.
Ensure drawings comply with established CAD standards and project specifications.
Manage and organize project files and documentation.
Collaborate with engineers and project teams while meeting project budget and deadline.
