Job summary

Apex Engineering Group in Minnetonka, MN seeks an Engineering Technician to provide CADD and field support for municipal infrastructure projects. You will work in a team, applying basic civil engineering design principles both in office and in the field, reporting to a Project Manager or Senior Engineer.

The role may involve RPR duties in construction projects and occasional travel. Responsibilities include drafting detailed drawings in AutoCAD/Civil-3D, assisting with project plans, quantities,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree in Engineering Technology or a technical drafting degree highly desirable.
• 2–5 years of experience preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil-3D required; familiarity with SketchUp Pro or ARCMap GIS a plus.
• Must be willing to travel and interact with people in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed dimensional drawings and design layouts using AutoCAD/Civil-3D.
• Support Project Managers and Engineers in development of project plans and specifications.
• Conduct field observations and assist with construction inspection and material testing.
• Produce reports, drawings, and graphics for proposals and interviews.
• Communicate progress and issues with supervisors and clients as needed.
