Job summary

AVCON, INC. in Orlando, Florida is seeking a Designer for our Land Development team to prepare construction drawings—site plans, grading, drainage, roadway alignments, cross sections, earthwork calculations, and related permit submittals.

The role requires CAD proficiency (AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D) and experience with MS Office; five years in civil drafting preferred. You will work with engineers to develop plans and ensure quality while adhering to standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum five years of civil engineering drafting and design experience.
• Airport, transportation or land development experience desired.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction drawings including site plans, grading and drainage, roadway alignment, plan and profiles, cross sections, earthwork calculations, water distribution, sanitary sewer systems, storm sewer design, and intersections.
• Prepare project specifications and assemble permit submittals (Water Management, FDEP, City, County, and State).
• Maintain project drawing files and generate maps, graphs, charts, overlays, base drawings, and details.
• Complete red line mark-ups and address design comments on layouts and details.
• Follow CAD standards and maintain knowledge of drafting procedures.
