Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) is seeking a Civil CAD Intern to join our team on civil construction projects. You will produce accurate 3D models and CAD files using Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D, supporting airport, highways, bridges, and utilities work.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in civil CAD, an associate degree or equivalent, and strong teamwork, attention to detail, and communication skills. Training provided in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in civil CAD or related field
Associates degree in Engineering, Drafting Technology, or similar field, or equivalent experience
Proficiency in CAD software, preferably Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D
Knowledge of construction and civil engineering principles and practices
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

Draft 3D site models and survey staking files using CAD software
Assist in review of designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements
Collaborate with Project Managers and stakeholders to develop accurate designs
Maintain and organize accurate records and files
Perform quality control checks on completed designs
Communicate effectively with project team members and clients
Work with internal staff to coordinate design and constructability solutions
Other duties as assigned
